Brandy Oxford:
Stairs sledding! So, I grew up poor and in a place where it didn’t snow. Outdoor sports were rare, so my little sister and I invented our own sports. Our favorites involved a set of carpeted stairs we had in a condo we lived in just outside of San Diego. We would use the leather cushions from our couch (or the dirty laundry we were bringing down to the dryer) to sled down the stairs on. It was ridiculous, but we even used plastic bags wrapped around our feet and butts to just fly down the stairs and crash into the wall at the bottom. Our mom video taped it once on one of those huge cameras that hummed and picked up the weirdest noises. I’ve never been a sports kid, but indoor sledding on those stairs and the dent my head made in the wall were priceless.

I would have to say that my favorite indoor activity is Scrabble. Yes, I’m aware of my nerdiness. But a night filled with good friends and good diction is definitely at the top of my list. Add some red wine and it’s an A+.

Whiffle ball. Hands down. It’s good no matter what size the ball. Or bat.
Outside is always better, obviously, but an indoors whiffle ball match will tear up any dwelling.
I break it all down with my whiffle ball baaat.
